The 14-Day Espresso Detox for Optimum Health

The Flush

  1. Drink 8-16 oz. of pure green tea immediately after waking up.
  2. 15-20 minutes after the green tea, drink 4 shots of plain espresso. Use decaf if you are sensitive to caffeine.
  3. During the remainder of the day, follow the juice and shake plan outlined below.

The green tea will flush toxins out of your blood stream through the liver. Your liver will dump the toxins into your small intestine along with bile from the gallbladder. The espresso acts as a toxin-binder and ensures the toxins are not reabsorbed through capillaries in the remaining parts of your digestive tract.

I reviewed scientific data from the past 100 years to come up with this process. The timing is important as green tea on an empty stomach passes completely through your digestive tract in less than 20 minutes. The gap in time between the green tea and the espresso prevents the green tea and the espresso from mixing prematurely in the stomach.

Both green tea and espresso have many healthy properties. They are loaded with anti-oxidants which eliminate cancer causing free-radicals throughout the body.

Green tea flushes toxins out of your blood stream and clears out your lymphatic system.

Espresso binds to toxins in your intestines so you can properly discard them digestively.

The juices and shakes restore the Ph, purity, and quality of your blood, restore damaged cells, fight cancer cells, remove dead cells, fight toxins, and battle cancer-causing free-radicals.

So to think of the process in reverse, the juices and shakes fight toxins and prepare them to be flushed out, the green tea flushes the toxins out into the small intestine, and the espresso binds to the toxins so they will be removed for good.

Detoxing is the process of simultaneously limiting toxins from entering the body while also eliminating the existing toxins for a period of time to allow the body to restore all of its tissues to a healthy toxin free status. Be strict until you feel great before you even consider a cheat meal, or exposing yourself to unnecessary toxins.

Expect to feel a little sick at first. Expect diarrhea, and think of it like the plunger for your inner piping. Ew. Gross. I know. I just don't want you to freak out the first time it happens. Keep it up until digestion is more normal and you feel great.

If you have a history of street or prescription drugs, they will begin to detox into your system as you flush and also drop body fat at the same time. They've basically been stored there inside of fat cells and waiting so expect some random symptoms and feelings while detoxing if you've had a history of drug use or medications. You may experience minor side effects from medications you took years ago. These will go away as you replace old fat cells with newer, cleaner, healthier ones! Don't take any current oral medications right before or after the tea and espresso or they could get flushed out.

What are toxins and where do they come from?

For the scope of this book it's important for you to know that your body is made entirely from organic cells! Some inorganic chemicals harm the body's healthy cells causing illness. The toxins we will focus on are cancer causing free-radicals, heavy metals (not the music I'm talking lead, silver, etc.), cosmetics that interact with your skin, chemicals that you breathe into your lungs which directly feed into your blood stream and become pumped through your entire body including your brain, and of course the chemicals in foods that you eat.

You can also acquire toxins from organic things in nature that do serious harm to your cells and cause chronic illness such as fungi, VOCs - volatile organic compounds, bacteria, viruses, and all the little microscopic wonders that make us feel yucky.

Green tea

Drink 8-16 oz. of pure green tea immediately after waking up.

Choose plain green tea with nothing at all added. It's best to use strong, natural, green tea bags in a mug of hot water. Otherwise drink cold green tea in glass bottles with no added ingredients or flavoring. It will taste bitter to you at first and possibly cause minor nausea if you are highly toxic. If you feel like throwing up, just drink half or one quarter of the bottle until you detox a bit.

Green tea is filled with antioxidants, vitamins, polyphenols, and is the superhero of detoxification. Green tea is known to aid in the prevention and cure of cancer, diabetes, and arthritis among many other inflammatory ailments. Green tea helps prevent neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's.

Green tea's catechins (antioxidants) attach themselves to cancer causing free radicals.

Green tea lowers LDL cholesterol.

Green tea contains L-theanine which aids in neurological activities.


15-20 minutes after the green tea, drink 4 shots of espresso. You can also drink a second espresso later in the day with enough time left in the day to get sleepy for bed time. Start a timer as soon as you finish the tea to find out which amount of time before espresso works best for you.

Not all espresso is equal. You need the good stuff! I recommend ordering from Lone Pine Coffee Roasters in Bend, OR. I get their Rockbrook espresso for the morning, and their Brazil for the evenings. If you prefer you can use decaf and it will work just the same.

Avoid Starbucks, Caribou Coffee, and the bigger chain coffee shops. Choose a smaller coffee shop that is more passionate about quality and look for places that roast their own beans on site. If Starbucks is your only option where you live, order from one of the roasters on this page and make it yourself. Don't add any sugar, creamer, milk, etc. Just take it straight up. This process is not about taste, it's about results. You will eventually be disgusted by the taste of the sugar-filled coffees you used to drink. And lastly, coffee itself can cause cancer and other health problems when mixed with milk, sugar, whipped cream, flavoring, or other additives.

The following amazing coffee accessories will allow you to make your own espresso right at home and save you lots of money!

  • Coffee beans will stay most fresh if you order the whole beans and grind them yourself. I use this grinder (Krups F203): Krups coffee grinder.
  • The AeroPress is a manual espresso maker that requires no electricity. It's absolutely amazing! I got mine here: AeroPress portable espresso maker. If you can, get their reusable steel coffee filter disk. Choose the one that says "fine."
  • Now you just need something to make hot water. I use an over the stove kettle sometimes but this one is super quick with an auto shut off at boiling temperature: electric glass kettle.


Macronutrients and Micronutrients

To explain the full benefits of juicing, allow me to quickly overview the nutrients. The macronutrients are proteins (including amino acids), carbohydrates, and fats. The micronutrients include vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. The macronutrients fuel our bodies for movement while the micronutrients are specialists of all of the various microscopic needs of our bodies. They trigger hormones and enzymes needed for very important processes. When we lack any essential micronutrient illnesses develop and long-term insufficiency leads to life-threatening conditions. The micronutrients are key in feeling healthy and strong.

On a regular basis your body needs both macronutrients and micronutrients to survive, regenerate, and thrive. Foods are considered nutrient dense if they contain plenty of micronutrients compared to their caloric content. To put it another way, the more micronutrients per calorie, the better! Fruits and vegetables cannot be beaten when it comes to nutrient density.

To take it a step further, in modern times we must look deeper than the food label to keep ourselves healthy and strong. We must look at the contents of our food on a microscopic level. We must also learn what each chemical added to our food is made of, and how these chemicals affect our healthy bodily tissues. And we must learn to avoid the ones that cause cancer, deformation, illness, pain, inflammation, etc.

Juice Recipes

I don't have a juicer at home so I visit a local juice shop on a daily basis. I also make a lot of fruit based shakes in my blender. If you have the funds, get yourself a Norwalk Juicer! A close second is the Champion Commercial Juicer (only slightly more than the personal one.)

Jamba Juice doesn't count. The only ingredients in the juicer should be fruits and vegetables and things like raw honey, ginger root, cinnamon, etc. To be clear, I'm only talking about straight juicing fruits and veggies with no additives, natural flavors, or sugar.

Blood Shot

  • 1 beat through juicer
  • Thumb sized ginger root through juicer

Sweet Tooth Rabbit

  • Carrots through juicer until you fill 8oz of a 16oz glass
  • 1 apple through juicer
  • 3 celery stalks through juicer
  • Raw honey (add after juice is in glass as a final touch)

Ginger is the most effective anti-inflammatory substance on the planet. It is the active ingredient in most popular anti-inflammatory drugs. However, in drugs like ibuprofen, it is much less concentrated than the ginger root itself.

Beets have a dramatic toxin flushing effect. In fact, be careful not to overdo it at first when you are highly toxic. You may end up late for work and have to put an "out of order" sign on your bathroom as a courtesy to others in your household.

The blood shot is a combination of ginger root and beets. Just juice them both and enjoy the shot. It can be very spicy to the palette until you get used to it. It will never taste great as ginger is very potent but remember that it is amazingly good for you.

I also really like Biotta Beet Juice on it's own. It is about $7 per bottle but drinking a whole one of these once in a while really cleans you out. You will notice a red or purple color in your urine and stool so don't think it's blood. It's just flushing out your kidneys.

Carrot Apple Beet:

  • Carrots through juicer until you fill 8oz of a 16oz glass
  • 1 apple through juicer
  • 1 beat through juicer
  • Thumb sized ginger root through juicer


  • Carrots through juicer until you fill 8oz of a 16oz glass
  • 1 orange through juicer
  • 1 beat through juicer
  • 1-2 lemons through juicer

Homemade Almond Milk + Fruit Recipe

Place in a blender first and pulse until you get the large chunks chopped:

  • 10 raw whole almonds
  • 10 raw pecan halves
  • 1-2 pinches of sea salt
  • 3 dates

Once almond milk is ready add…

  • 1 frozen bag of berries of your choice
  • 1 small cap of grape seed oil

…and blend until smooth.

You may also use any frozen bag of fruit. My favorites are blackberries, blueberry + 1 whole banana, raspberry, strawberry, peach, and blackberries.

Store bought almond milk contains carrageenan which is a substitute derived from red algae. It is very inflammatory to the human digestive tract and it is a known carcinogen. In fact, red algae is used as to cause an inflammatory response when testing anti-inflammatory drugs. Stay away from the store bought stuff. Coconut milk and soy milk also contains carrageenan.

Other Shake Recipes

Place in a blender and blend until smooth. Add cold water to desired thickness:

  • 2 cups of frozen spinach
  • 1 pinch of vanilla
  • 1 tbsp of fresh coconut shavings
  • 2 dates
  • 1 banana
  • 3-5 fresh squeezed oranges
  • 1 small cap of grape seed oil

Place in a blender and blend until smooth. Add cold water to desired thickness:

  • 2 cups of frozen spinach
  • 1 pinch of vanilla
  • 1 tbsp of fresh coconut shavings
  • 2 dates
  • 8 raw macadamia nuts
  • 1 small cap of grape seed oil

Salad Recipe

In a large mixing bowl with lid shake these up and serve:

  • 1 avocado diced into chunks
  • 1 tomato diced into chunks
  • 1 cucumber sliced
  • 2 lemons squeezed
  • celtic sea salt
  • ground pepper


Tea and coffee can make you more dehydrated but you will get a lot of water from fruits and vegetables. Drink water after exercise, the sauna, or the hot tub. Make sure to drink more water whenever your urine appears mid-yellow or darker.

Always add lemon to restaurant or bottled water. It restores the Ph of your body and kills off some harmful substances.
